Ghana’s creative scene is about to come alive this December as the country hosts Entertainment Week Ghana 2025, a star-studded celebration that merges culture, music, business and innovation. The festival, which runs from December 21 to 27, will transform Accra into a vibrant hub for artists, investors, filmmakers and fans from across Africa and beyond.
Organizers describe it as more than just a party, it’s a movement designed to showcase how African entertainment can drive global influence and serious investment.
“We’re not just creating moments; we’re building industries,” said one of the event producers during the press launch in Accra.
Entertainment Week Ghana 2025 promises a rich lineup of activities. There’ll be a Thought Leadership Summit on December 24 where investors, artists and policymakers will discuss ways to make Africa’s creative economy more sustainable. The event will also feature live concerts, a beach-side music festival, fashion showcases, film screenings and an innovative “Deal Room” for startups and content creators to pitch their projects to potential sponsors.
Rumor has it that several international celebrities have been invited to join the closing-night concert, which could make this year’s edition Ghana’s most talked-about December event yet. One of the most anticipated parts of the festival is the eco-fashion runway, which will highlight designers using recycled materials and local textiles. This move aligns with the global push for sustainable fashion and gives Ghanaian designers a chance to shine on an international stage.

The festival’s film segment is also making waves. Reports suggest a partnership with British actor Idris Elba’s Akuna Pod production company to promote African-diaspora storytelling. Local filmmakers will be given the chance to pitch new stories for co-production, a first for many emerging talents.
This event represents more than entertainment, it’s about opportunity, empowerment and global recognition. Ghana is positioning itself as a creative powerhouse, showing the world that African art, music and fashion are not just trends, but thriving industries capable of creating jobs and attracting investors.
As “Detty December” approaches, all eyes will be on Accra. From nightlife lovers to business moguls, everyone’s getting ready for a week that promises rhythm, inspiration and economic potential in equal measure.
