The Member of Parliament for Akim Oda and a member of Parliament’s Health Committee, Hon. Alexander Akwasi Acquah has accused the National Democratic Congress (NDC) of politicizing issues within Ghana’s health sector.
His comments follow debates in Parliament after the recent revocation of the Lightwave Health Information Management Systems (LHIMS) contract, which prompted renewed discussions about the country’s medical drone delivery service, Zipline.
Speaking in an interview with Nana Yaa Konadu on Peace FM’s midday news, Hon. Acquah defended the government’s digitalisation agenda, praising former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for championing technological innovations in the health sector.
He described Zipline as one of the biggest operational setups in Ghana’s healthcare system, adding that the initiative has attracted commendation from international partners, including officials from the United States.
