NPP Blasts Mahama Over Abandoned Bokro Hospital

The Ahanta West Constituency branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has expressed deep disappointment in President John Dramani Mahama for what it describes as his deliberate neglect of the Agenda 111 hospital project at Bokro in the Western Region, despite the facility being 100 percent complete.

According to the party, the hospital—commissioned by former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in December 2024 has yet to become operational nearly ten months into the current NDC administration.

Speaking at a press briefing , the Ahanta West NPP Communication Officer, Barnabas Annan, said the party expected President Mahama to have made the fully completed hospital a priority stop during his recent visit to the region. Instead, he bypassed the Bokro facility and went to Apimanim to inspect the regional hospital, which was also initiated under the NPP government but remains at the foundation stage.

Mr. Annan emphasized that the Bokro hospital was constructed with state funds under the Agenda 111 initiative and should not be left to deteriorate. He accused the government of political bias, saying its refusal to operationalize the facility is denying residents vital healthcare access.

“The hospital is ready and waiting for staff to be deployed. Anyone who doubts its completion can come and see for themselves,” Mr. Annan, also known as Barnasco, stated.

He urged the Mahama administration to put aside politics and open the hospital for public use, warning that continued neglect would amount to a waste of taxpayer money.
